Well they do go to the university concerned to verify whether the degree was issued by it lest it create problems in future.

Court at times call for records from the university if any dispute arises.

In case where the authenticity of the mark sheet or any document presented is itself in issue or where there is a reasonable complaint to the police regarding the element of forgery in respect of a marksheet or other document, it can verify the complaint and the marksheet from the concerned college or institution which has issued such marksheet or documents.
