Defamation case can be filed before city civil court and you will be notified by way of summons from the court. The court can not take any adverse action against you without sending summons. You can also check case status if you know case no. or u can also check by party name.

Nobody from court usually calls up to inform about a case. You are informed of cases filed against you only when and if you receive a court notice. Sometimes, these kind of calls are used as pressure tactics to get some money out. The high court and district court websites are equipped for you to conduct searches with party names and you can search and see if any case has been filed against you.

Hi, if the case has been filed in the court then the notice/summons shall be issued to the respondents to appear and file their objections/written statement. If you have not received any summons from the court then there is no need to worry or bother about the issue. Don't get scared just by a phone call from the court. Also please note that any contract or agreement entered by force stands null and void. You can seek for cancellation of the same through the court order with proper justifying facts to prove that the contract was entered by force and the signature was taken through compulsion.
