Defamation against chargesheet

I am working in state government. I have been issued departmental chargesheet under rule 8 of punishment and appeal rules 1970 punjab for recovery of 36,00,000 rupee. nDuring inquiry it is found that i am not responsible for any government loss and chargesheet got dropped. Can i file a defamation case for wrong chargesheet
yes you can file a defamation case..as the charge sheet filed against you contained false information, which in itself is proved by the enquiry report. Need to show that the said wrong information was communicated to others and the same resulted in the harm to your reputation...
