CHANGING CATEGORY BACK TO SC IN GOVERNMENT JOB

07-Mar-2023 (In Civil Law)
Hi I am going to apply for a government job. I belong to SC category. I know that the work environment is very unfriendly for people belonging to SC/ST category. Hence I have decided to apply under general category. My question is if I get the job under general category and maybe after 10 years I want to change my category to SC what problems I might face? Is there any precedence of such case in India.

You can't change your category afterwards. May be at the time of promotion if there remains any quota provision, you may apply but once you choose to apply under general quota it naturally means waiver of rights or relinquishment of rights.
