Change of place of birth in my passport

I need to change my place of birth from Mangalore to Mumbai on my passport . I have a birth certificate from Mumbai . What is the procedure and how long will it take ?

Well, in order to change such details, I have to approach the Regional Passport Office for you and on your behalf by filing an Application along with requisite attachments (evidences) which includes your Birth Certificate having correct place of birth.
