Case against domestic violence. How to proceed ?

29-Apr-2023 (In Civil Law)
I am 35 weeks pregnant. I was married in Dec 2015. My husband quit his job just before marriage since he was working in Mumbai and did not look for a job after that. I am working and have been taking care of all the expenses. He has been violent, extremely abusive, suspicious and also was having flings with females. He made me take up personal loans to meet the expenses and also saying he would do business. We had a fight in November and he left the house after that and did not return. He blocked my calls, his family said they are not aware of his whereabouts. I lodged a missing complaint in the police station and recently lodged a case of 498a and 420 in the police station. He is somewhere in Punjab and from my sources came to know he is staying in live in. My mom spoke to him and he said he does not care for the child and will not come back. ACP suggested I lodge a case of domestic violence. Need help since I cannot move around much and will be delivering the baby shortly.

You need to register a FIR under section 498A in the nearest police station. Also, you can file a case for divorce under section 13B of Hindu Marriage Act, for cruelty. Thereafter the police is incharge of investigating and bringing him to the court. And You can also claim maintenance from him under section 125 of CrPC.
