can govt demolish a village for widening a road

govt people are demolishing a village for widening a road.. without giving any compensation... they have marked houses to demolish in next two days is it allowed ??

No , they cannot demolish without any proper reason and justification which has to be issued by higher authorities in writing . Seek information from the concerned department and meanwhile file a writ petition and get a stay in your favour from High Court

They can not demolish the houses without due process of law.if gov is widening the road area than they have to issue notice first and they will ask you the legal title of the property which you have to produce before the competent authority and if it is lawful than they have to give you cimoensation

which gout authority doing so. NHAI / UIT / Municipality / PWD / gram panchayat/ Panchayat samiti/ Zila Panchayat or other body. No authority can demolish the resident at the name of widen the road. There is a provision to rehabitate of affected persons and appropriate compensation has to be given by state.

if no opportunity of hearing has given before demolish you can approach to the Civil court or High court to stay such unconstitutional action.
