Can a brother claim a share in brothers property.

HI Sir i have a building which located in my home town.i have children,s but here is an issue that i have a younger brother..i am facing big problem with him that he is asking partition in my building and sent a notice to me.even i have full complete property documents with me on my name and registered also ,How can i gave him sir,its my hard work..how can he ask like that. Please sir suggest me an answer as soon as possible

There is no way your brother can claim share from your hard earned property as per The Hindu Succession Act, 1956. If the land or building is ancestral property then he will have share and have right to file a partition suit. Good luck

Since the building is in your name ( We assume you purchased the land and building with your own money) and had the property registered in your name, it is your self acquired property and your brother cannot ask for his share.
I presume, your brother is asking for a share of this property under the pretext of ancestral property.
No worries. Let your brother file a partition suit in court and you may then produce the relevant title deeds to establish your ownership and get the case dismissed with in 1 year.

please note that if any monies from joint family property is used by you for acquiring this properties they are liable for partition or if they were acquired by your self earnings they are not liable for partition as you are saying that you received a notice please issue detailed reply stating the actual facts and contact the advocate for issuing the detailed reply
