Applied for Cast certificate but not issued

My surname is shaw and I am st certificate holder since 1990. Recently I have applied for my daughter's st certificate. At the time of submitting documents they say shaw is not belongs to ST catagory and keep my application in pending. Their portal shows that application submitted but hardcopy not submitted. Please advise how to proceed

Dear Client, Caste of a person is determined by community lineage and schedule of the respective State Government and not by surname. The surname shaw is not a ST Category in West Bengal which is associated with Teli community and typically comes under OBC Category or sub-caste of SC category post official verification of an application. So, in the given scenario, following the portal communication, you may submit the hard copy of the application to the concerned authorities and contact or visit the office of the State Level Caste Scrutiny Committee for more clarification and updated information on the subject.
