Advice in case address proof is being misused.

04-Jan-2023 (In Civil Law)
Hi Sir, I got some one's passport to my address(my flat) by late november. That time i took it lightly, thinking it might be a manual error and informed post man that no person with such name stays in that address. But recently again I recieved a Aadhar card with the same person name to my address. This time post man has dropped it in my mail box. So I have it with me. Can you please advice me how should I proceed next. Do I have to first make a police complaint or should I approach a lawyer?

You better send it to Commissioner of Police by registered post. There is no need to go to a lawyer as you do not have any litigation with either that person or with passport office. Issuance of passport is cleared after the address of applicant is verified, so how that your adress was cleared for that person ?

1. No issue, just return the sender under your covering letter stating that addressee do not stay in the said address and request the concerned authorities to action against the said person as per law for declaring wrong address for such important documents.

2. If you are so interested keep xerox copies of the same and lodge a complaint with Police Commissioner enclosing xerox copies for necessary investigation and action.

3. You may also call up the mobile number which will be usually mentioned at the fag end of address, and get explanations from such person.
