Aadhaar DOB Correction for Minor

02-Nov-2025 (In Civil Law)
My brother is under 18. His Date of Birth on his Aadhaar card is incorrect and does not match his 10th-grade marksheet. This is urgently needed for his exams. We do not have a birth certificate. How can we update his DOB on Aadhaar using his 10th-grade marksheet as the primary proof? What is the exact procedure for a minor in this case, and what documents does the parent/guardian need to provide?`

Carry the following: 1. Minor’s Aadhaar card (for correction) 2. 10th-grade marksheet (DOB proof) 3. Parent/guardian’s Aadhaar card 4. Proof of relationship (if not already linked, such as school record or passport)

There are two ways:- First you need to make a visit in Aadhaar Seva Kendra and enquire there about it. Second step is file a declaration suit in the court then with a court order it will be done . For further clarification, feel free to reach me.

Aapki situation ekdum clear hai – ladki 19 saal ki hai, legal age poori hai, lekin aapki birth certificate ke hisaab se abhi aap 21 nahi hue ho. Law ke mutabiq ladke ki minimum age 21 saal honi chahiye court marriage ke liye. Agar abhi turant court marriage karne jaoge to marriage registrar case reject kar dega aur aap dono unnecessary legal risk me aa jaoge. Iska legal solution ye hai: Aap dono ki protection petition High Court me file ki jaa sakti hai, taki ladki ke ghar wale zabardasti shaadi na karwa paye ya aap dono ko threat na karein. Aapko apne documents aur proof of relationship ready rakhne honge. Court aapko police protection tak de sakti hai. Agar birth certificate galat hai (age actual me zyada hai) to usko correct karne ka legal process hai, jise timely kiya jaa sakta hai. Agar age sach me 20 hai, to aapko 21 complete hote hi direct Special Marriage Act ke under court marriage file karwa dena hai. Main aapko is process me step by step guide kar sakta hu, ghar baithe hi petition e-filing se shuru kiya jaa sakta hai, aur ladki ke parivaar ki zabardasti rokne ke liye court ka order liya jaa sakta hai. Aap chahte ho to mujhse contact karke apna case detail me discuss karo, fir mai aapko turant legal protection ke liye petition file karke relief dilwa sakta hu. — Adv. Yes, your brother’s Aadhaar date of birth (DOB) can be corrected even without a birth certificate. UIDAI accepts Class 10th marksheet as a valid Proof of Date of Birth document. For a minor (below 18 years), the update must be made through an Aadhaar Seva Kendra by the parent or guardian. The parent/guardian must carry: 1. Original Aadhaar of the child 2. Parent’s Aadhaar (as proof of relationship and authorization) 3. 10th-grade marksheet showing the correct DOB 4. A filled Aadhaar Update Form (available at the centre) At the Seva Kendra, the operator will verify documents and take biometric authentication of the parent. The corrected DOB will be updated in 3–7 working days. If any discrepancy arises, an affidavit of correct date of birth can be submitted along with the marksheet. Thus, in absence of a birth certificate, the 10th marksheet plus parent Aadhaar and a self-declaration/affidavit are sufficient to get the DOB corrected for a minor’s Aadhaar urgently.
