Can grand parents also apply for joint shared custody of child

hi, my wife has filed false 498a case angainst my family. We are puzzled whether we should apply for custody of our 2 year old child. My parents are so much aggrieved. We fear if we apply for child custody , the 498a lady should try to enter our house, which we do not want. My another question is can we apply for shared/joint custody. Can grand parents also apply for joint/shared custody of child. my religion is hindu.
Section 498a is a different case and filing for child custody is different. It has nothing to do with each other. You can file for child custody at any moment and convince the court that you will take care of the child better then your partner. Your parents cannot file for custody of child till husband and wife are alive or they prove that the child is not safe with the parents.
