In a cheque bounce case, the term "steps"refers to the procedural actions taken by the court to move the case forward. Initially, the court issues a summons to the accused, asking them to appear and respond. Once this stage is complete, the case status may update to "steps."

This usually means the court has taken further actions like fixing a date for the next hearing, directing both parties to exchange documents, or giving trial-related instructions. In short, "steps"indicates that the case is progressing to the next stage after summons.

Sir, The Steps means, it is the stage to take process for issue sunmons or NBW. The Conplainant need to pay the process fee and submit it before the court with mentioning that kindly issue notice or NBW.After pay the process, the Hon'ble court will issue summons/Notice/Warrant to the accused (Opposit party).

Hi You have filed the criminal case for dishonour of cheque, the Hon'ble court has taken cognizance, ordered to issue summons to other side/Accused, the summons are not served, so the court has ordered for re-issue of summons, in legal terms it's called STEPS. SO now you have to pay summons charges now.

The stage ‘For Steps’ is essentially the stage wherein the advocate has to pay the process fee and get the notice/summons issued depending upon the nature of the case. In your case the process fee might have not been payed after the judge ordered issuance of summons. Hope this helps.
