Hi,
Can any one help me out with answer, whether cheque bounce can be refereed to Lok Adalat, if one party is which to do it...
the case can be dealt with mediation centre which can be referred by the JM court. the person can also seek it by filing a petition before the JM court to refer it before the meditation or loak adalat court. the discretionary power of JM to refer it

138 NI cases can be referred to Lok Adalat however if an option for settling the amount has already been given to the accused and if the accused has denied the same it is at the discretion of the complainant to either accept the settlement or proceed with the case. recent changes in the Negotiable Instrument Act forces the complainant to accept a compensation instead of criminal imprisonment post pronouncement of judgement.
