Hi there, if the cheque was given and it bounced then it brings the whole transaction under the scrutiny of the Negotiable Instruments Act, which is criminal in nature. However, to devise an appropriate strategy I'll need information regarding the date when the cheque bounced, written communication regarding the acknowledgement of debt. You can issue a legal notice through an advocate demanding repayment within 15 days. If he fails, file a civil suit for recovery of money under CPC in the local civil court. Evidence like bank transfers, chats, or written acknowledgment will support your case, and you may also claim interest from the date of default even if the loan was interest-free
