can friend file a case on me for recovery based on NEFT transaction

My friend sent me some money by neft for purchase of house. In emergency I used the same in the construction of my own house. Now he is asking to refund the money. But I am not able to refund now. I asked him to take my newly constructed house. He refused and threatening me for money. I asked him to give some time to refund money. Can he able to put a case based on neft transaction. There is no other documents accept neft record in his statement. He is threatening me of putting case on me. What I to do now?

but there is a time limit to file this type of cases. he has to file with in three years from the date of transaction.
