Hi my name is nithya, I married at 2020,we r in bangalore native erod as my husband and in laws are too dominating, always creating prblm,i am adjusting each time considering my 4 years sons life, but my husband not speaking with my parents and blackmaileing me that if i visit his home and stay with thier parents then only he allow me to meet my parents.. And if he will speak with my parents only they apologizes their parents always its happening... I need justice.. I am in peak mental presure

Q: How do I get my divorce decree

Hello,My divorce case was an uncontested case and the current status of the case is 'case disposed, made over'. We filed at the Chengalpattu high court on the outskirts of Chennai. The final hearing was held in October 2024. I am assuming that the case is over and the decree has been pronounced, and divorce has been granted. Is my assumption right?Also, I need to get a copy of the divorce decree, can someone guide me on how to get it please?

Yes your assumption is right, it’s not Chengelpet high court, it might be Sub court Chengelpet. To get the copy of the decree, you need an advocate to apply and get copy where usually takes time in which I can assist you. Thanks.

Q: Divorce Petition Filing location - husband's location

I live in abroad but my permanent location is in Chennai. My wife's location is Madurai but she works in Bengaluru. Our marriage happened in Madurai. Our last cohabitation is Madurai. I have the following questions:1. Can I file for divorce in Chennai ?2. Can my apply for transfer of the case to Madurai ? - She is working, we have no children. She do not have any health issues. But she has her mother, whom she has to take care of. 3. Since I am abroad, can I appoint PoA as my mother?

You can file in Chennai if you resided in Chennai after marriage, if you file in Chennai by any means she can always file for transfer of case since it’s well settled law. Yes you can execute POA appointing your Mother as your lawful attorney.
