Person promised me to provide job can I recover my money from him

i have paid about 17k to a company for getting me a job. which till date i have not received. they keep asking me the money now. i said i dont want any job please repay the extra amount i have paid and keep the initial 2k as the fee u asked. but they are not. what can i do to recover my money
If you a proof of payment, then through a lawyer you can send a legal notice through a lawyer thereby seeking suit for recovery. If they fail to pay then you can file suit for recovery before the civil court and seek recovery
