Angry homebuyers protest and requested CBI probe into project delays

On Sunday the angry Noida homebuyers who had invested in two different projects- Amrapali and IRIDIA requested for Central Bureau Investigation (CBI) probe into the delayed projects.The homebuyers further demanded investigate the link between the developer and Noida Authority, because as a matter of fact no Authority official has, till now, come to the help of the homebuyers. On 4th September, the Amrapali homebuyer with members of the Noida Extension Flat Owners Welfare Association (NEFOWA) gathered at the Noida Extension, frustrated with the unnecessary delay of possessions in getting their dream home in which they have invested organised a funeral rally. Angry homebuyers claimed that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made only verbal promises and did nothing concrete to ease their suffering. We want the CBI probe into this matter now and take some strict action against the Authority and the developers,& quot NEFOWA General Secretary Shweta Bharti said. The homebuyers of IRIDIA also organised a rally and raised slogans against the developer, the Noida Authority and the State Bank of India (SBI). The IRIDIA project is located in Noida Sector 86, launched in 2012, has been at a halt since September, 2014, following a notice from the Noida Authority. The homebuyers struggled for over three years after lodging complaints with the UP government and its various offices, the homebuyers finally decided to organise the rally, which started from the Rajnigandha Chowk and went till the District Magistrate's (DM) residence in Sector 27. After which the protesters submitted a memorandum for Adityanath through the DM of Gautam Buddh Nagar. & quot We have heard their problems and will take the matter up with the Noida Authority,& quot DM BN Singh said. After 14 floors were constructed, the project was announced illegal and brought to standstill. After which the dreams of hundreds of buyers were badly broken” & quot It is nothing but a case of fraud and cheating by the Kaveri Sahkari Awas Samiti (Pankaj and Vijay Lunia) and Horizon Concept (Naresh Sabarwal, Jivesh Sabarwal, Suninder Sanda, Ambika Sharma), in collaboration with the Noida Authority,& quot she added. Many cases have been filed with the Economic Offence Wing (EOW) and the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) in this regard but no action has been taken by the agencies.
