Section 56 of the Indian Penal Code has been removed from the law by the Criminal Law (Removal of Racial Discriminations) Act, 1949 (Act 17 of 1949).
IPC section 56 states: - The sentence of Europeans & Americans is penal servitude (forced labour). According to this section, Europeans and Americans are not allowed to get life in prison but can receive a sentence of imprisonment.
