How to deal with notice regarding information security breach

23-May-2023 (In Corporate Law)
Hi, I am working in IT sector. Recently I moved from Infosys to another IT organization. In my last day of infosys, I had copied documents from my office laptop to google drive. Somehow, some project related documents also got copied(they are not confidential documents). I have got Final settlement and reliving letter from Infosys. Now, the HR called me and told that they have identified Information security Breach. and She is asking me to come to office with 200 Rs affidavit. In that Affidavit stated that all are accepted by me. If I will not respond to that HR and what will happen? Or If I fill that affidavit, will that cause any harm to me. Please advice me. Best Regards.

Dear Client,
You should not sign on the affidavit. You must show the same before signing to expert legal adviser and get opinion whether to sign or not. Whether you received all dues and experience certificate from the last worked place. If not, if you do not sign, they will not settle dues or give you experience certificate. Ask the H.R. that you will show the matter to your legal adviser and get his opinion and thereafter you will sign.

if there is only any confidentiality breach then they can proceed against you and it must be proved by them that you have used the said files for your own good against the interest of the company. no need of panic
