12-Oct-2024 (In Wills / Trusts Law)
Oldest brother deceased from July & has made a will in 2014. My third brother claims that he is executor & told us that we are receiving some funds from his estate. We are 5 in number. He claims that 3 apartments in Mumbai have been bequeathed to him . The apartments in Mangalore, Goa & Bangalore is for the 3 siblings. My sister is deceased so no apartment for her. He has not shown any paper but needs our signature for probate. Pls advise.

It is important that you first go through contents of the Will and then give consent from grant of probate. If you give consent then you won't be able to object later. Feel free to contact me for seeking any legal advice as regards the same.

Before signing or consenting to probate, request a copy of the will, confirm the executor’s appointment, and review the probate petition. Verify asset ownership, watch for undue influence, and ensure the distribution aligns with the will. If there are disputes or missing details, you can contest the probate. For further legal consultation or representation, including will review or challenging probate, please feel free to contact me. I will ensure your rights and interests are fully protected throughout the process.
