Father left will and gave me some share can I claim that share

26-May-2023 (In Wills / Trusts Law)
I want to know that, my father had made a will and gave some share in property to me. So, can i consider myself as the owner of that whole share whatever given to me, like if i want to sell that property someday so can i have the authority to do that.Because as far as i know that WILL gives that power only after death of a person. The will comes in to operation only after the death of the person who makes the will. So if your father is alive then you cannot take any advantage of the will . However if your father is no more then you can get the property transfered on your name and then you can sell the property .
