Bank not giving fixed deposit to the legal heir of deceased person

25-Nov-2023 (In Wills / Trusts Law)
My uncle passed away in 2013 and has made a will in 2006 stating that all investments made after this date goes to me. A will has 2 witness and is registered. in 2011 he has left with some Fixed deposit in single name. He was unmarried and his brother who was my father has also expiered. This will made does not have any information about this FD. When approached bank they refussed to give any info. I have a will copy, his death certificate and original FD. What has to be done in this case.

Whether in the will it is mentioned any other items or assets? If yes, then you need to go to court obtain Probate and then ask the Bank to transfer the FD in your name, and if they don't then you have to file case against the Bank.
