Can the organisation deduct tax from my Pension

i was working with IIT. i retired and m entitled to pension. but the organization have debited my pension after deducting the Tax. can they do so and what they have done is it right?
The amount received as pension from the employer is a taxable income under income tax and therefore tax will be deducted from the pension received by you.
