Want to file PIL for eliminating allergic parthenium weed

31-Mar-2023 (In Supreme Court Law)

The Parthenium weed (aka Congress grass) is highly toxic an causes many respiratory and skin problems in people. It grows wild in many parts of the country, including big cities such as Bangalore and Pune. Can a PIL be filed requesting that the weed be eliminated? If so, which court should be approached? What information would the court want? The onus of eliminating the weed can be put on the landowners (private and public land).

Hi, In my opinion High Court is better forum than Supreme Court to file PIL. More scope better hearing in High Court so if you want to take up this matter Pl take first to Karnataka High Court Bangaluru. You need to make good research on getting rid of Congress Grass. All the best
