What is the procedure to start an online shopping website

24-Jun-2023 (In Startup Law)
Sir, I am thinking to start an ecommerce website. I am going to sell only female clothing and accessories on it. I am not registered now and will only register if I will earn profits from it. I have contacted a clothig dealer and he is ready to prodvide me stock. Only issue here is that he is an unregistered dealer. So how can we deal as I want to do everything in a genuine way. How can I get a purchase bill from him and without my registration how can I give bill to my customers? I don't want to register first because I want to first test my idea. Please help me regardig this. Thank you.

Sole propritership does not need registration as of now you can have an agreement with the dealer and do transactions with bill you need to have vat/service tax registration for tax purposes further you may register as a company

What you are suggesting in your query and what you are intending to do in the manner specified above is illegal in the eyes of law. So, naturally an illegal act can never in turn become a genuine. I hope you are getting my point. If you still any further query with yourself please feel free to contact me.

register your company as proprietorship firm , but dealing with unregistered dealer you are escaping tax liability, quality standards etc and other things which can be expensive to you if something goes wrong, basically this not how you do business your set up itself is inviting legal trouble, which from your question seem you are not willing to see, my advice even if you like to do proto type to test your model do it this model only with your close friends and family to run your test , without registration your liability are unlimited but in case of your vendor he can escape because you don't have any evidence . Also indian court don't alowed or provide full protection and compensation claim. In anyhow it's not advisable to go like this, have entrepreneurial spirit and believe in your model and yourself, don't ignore and FYI e commerce has new policy and regulation so make sure you are following all bylaws.
