What are the legal steps required to start a business

I am interested in doing business regarding handmade craft items made of waste paper , paper glue, kitchen ingredients, colours , etc. for this what is the legal procedure do i have to register my company anywhere? what about the billing and taxation process? do i need GST number for buying raw material like colours, brushes, empty bottles,etc.and for supplying my creations to shopkeepers? what about the transportation laws ?

The laws have gone strict and lengthy after the introduction of Gst but at the end of the day there are laws in support only and the same have to be taken in compliance of the already known laws which are easy to understand. I suggest we do a meeting and then proceed further

Please take note of following -
1. You need to get your organization registered depending upon the intention. If you are doing this for nonprofit then get your organization registered under Society Registration Act else get a company registered of your own.
2. Comply with the environmental norms, tax laws, IPR laws and general corporate laws to do further business in your domain.
Approach an advocate for this matter with all the documents which you have with yourself and he will guide you further in completing all the required norms.

It's not practical and possible to answer here , you need a lawyer and CA to do your job and help you get all the benefits registered with small scale industries. You are actually want to set up a firm there are many complicated compliance need to take care from incorporating your company and the product you deal. So better hire a lawyer or CA to start with !!

You dont need a company to do the business. You can always small as a proprietor. You dont need a GST registration to buy raw material. But to sell, you will need GST registration. However, there are certain exemption for small businesses under GST regime.

GST Act becomes applicable when the turnover is more than 20 lakhs. Regarding registration of a Company, you first have to decide whether you would like to start your business as a company or as a sole proprietor.
