I’m turning 18 and seeking hypothetical legal advice. I plan solo, faceless adult content on an international website using VPN + alias(just for privacy), no minors, no 3rd parties, no illegal acts. Content will not be distributed to India or neighboring countries. Earnings via website → foreign payment processor → my Indian bank, fully taxed. I haven’t taken any action yet. Are these steps fully legal in India and safe from police? Written reply only.
If the platform is foreign and the content is not accessible to Indian users, risk is lower, but authorities can still investigate if any complaint arises or if the content becomes accessible in India. There is no guaranteed “100% safety from police,” because legality depends on distribution, access within India, and compliance with IT and tax laws. Adult content creation itself is not an offence in India if you are 18+, act alone, and do not involve any illegal content. However, publishing, transmitting or distributing such content from India can attract liability under the IT Act, 2000 (Sections 67/67A), irrespective of whether you use a VPN or an alias. Payments received must be disclosed and taxed. Using foreign platforms does not remove the legal risk if the content is uploaded from India. You should not proceed without a detailed legal consultation, as these activities can still lead to complaints or police action under Indian cyber laws.
