Vehicle taken from my house without any intimation

17-May-2025 (In Recovery Law)
I have a vehicle loan with HDFC bank. Some payments are pending. Requested settlement with them. Yesterday they came and taken my vehicle without any intimation. I have some medical issues, because of that I am in one month medical leave. At that time they didn't gave any information and documents what I ask. My personal belongings are in my car. They will not gave anything. Kindly gave me advice for that.

You can raise a complaint through the HDFC grievance redressal forum and also file a case before the Consumer Commission against the bank for unfair trade practices. Normally, a bank can take possession of a vehicle under the terms of the hypothecation agreement if there are outstanding dues. However, before taking possession, the bank must serve a demand notice and a loan recall notice. If such notices were not served, you can file a complaint before the Consumer Commission seeking compensation for unfair trade practices.
