Don't ignore missed EMIs. Contact your bank or loan officer and explain the situation with your husband's illness. Lenders often appreciate honesty and may offer temporary relief options. 2. Request Moratorium / EMI Holiday Many banks allow a moratorium (temporary suspension of EMIs) in genuine hardship cases, especially medical emergencies. This doesn't waive the EMI but postpones it for a few months. Restructure / Reschedule the Loan You can request the bank to increase the tenure of the loan so that your EMIs reduce. Some banks also allow conversion of overdue EMIs into a separate loan to ease repayment.

you can help your sister to write to the bank that your sister is unable to maintain and the family and can ask for one time settlement as they will not be able to afford the home loan provided to them as your brother in law is paralysed and brain damage, settle the matter with the bank and get the money your sister paid till now as EMI.
