Unable to pay back loan amount getting threat call from recovery agent

I had a taken a loan almost 10 years back. I did not pay it back. Now i am getting calls form recovery agents about the same. I wanted to know if i want to settle what is the procedure? And the amount to settle would it be principal or plus interest?
Dear sir, procedure for settlement and amount of settlement would all depend upon the status of recovery and nature of loan. if the lending is more than 10 yrs old then limitation required to be checked. i think you should consult to lawyer specialized in recovery matters.
