Took loan now getting threatening calls from the people to pay early

20-Jan-2023 (In Recovery Law)

I took a loan of 21k from a online lending firm named Vote4Cash in Nov15. I had taken a loan from them in the past & repaid them with interest. But this time i had no funds to repay. They extended my loan tenure to Jan 22/16 but are asking me to repay 1,10,000 which is not at all fair. They also threatened me on email to give them a notarised declaration stating that i will pay them the amount and willingly signing the notary or else it will not be frutiful to me and my career.I was afraid nd hence gave them the notary. Please advise what i need to do?

Approach the consumer courts and file a case against the company. You may also file a complaint with the RBI which regulates the banking sector in India. You should also file a police complaint to prevent them from harassing you in the future and making undue threats. Once you are in a better position to negotiate, have the loan structured to be paid in reasonable EMI's.
