School Not Providing TC without paying 1st term fee citing a school ru

10-Jun-2025 (In Recovery Law)
1. I went to get TC in June from previous school 2. Previous school told they sent a circular in Jan 2025 asking parents to Fill form if anyone is leaving school and looking for TC. 3. I didn't take the TC at that time, because i am not sure whether i can move by that time. 6. During march, school teacher asked me whether my daughter is continuing with the school, i informed she is not. 7. Now, school is saying i have to pay 1st term fee only then TC will be provided.

If you clearly informed the school in March 2025 that your daughter would not be continuing and did not attend classes thereafter, the school cannot legally insist on collecting the 1st term fee for the new academic year just to issue the Transfer Certificate (TC). Denial of TC on such grounds may be considered unfair trade practice and a violation of CBSE or state education board norms (if applicable). You may first send a written request to the school citing your earlier communication and requesting TC without fee. If they still insist on the fee, you can file a complaint before the District Education Officer or approach the consumer forum for redressal.
