This is a clear case of cheque bounce and cheating. Since he gave you a cheque that was not honoured, you can take strict legal action under the Negotiable Instruments Act within 3 months of dishonour notice. Immediately: 1. Send a legal notice through a lawyer demanding payment within 15 days. 2. If not paid, file a cheque bounce case (NI Act) - punishable with jail up to 2 years and fine 3. Also file a criminal case for cheating (IPC) and a civil money recovery suit for principal+ interest. Don't waste more time in mediation. File cheque bounce+cheating cases in court to recover your money legally .
