Received a legal notice from reliance and sending mails for recovery

06-Oct-2023 (In Recovery Law)
Reliance Communication (Anil Ambani's almost bankrupt company) has sent me a Legal Notice on email stating that I have to Pay around Rs. 9000/- outstanding amount of year 2011. Now, I never received any sms or reminder phone calls or email all these years for payment of any outstanding bills in last 6 years since it was inactive June-July 2011 period only after my request. Is there any time limit for a notice to be sent by any company to recover money and what should be my course of action. Should I ignore these mails as spams?

If You Pay Nothing: Although a debt collector has no legal right to sue you or force you to pay your debt if the statue of limitations has expired, you still technically owe the money. A collector can still legally contact you until you send them a letter requesting contact to stop, and unfortunately debt collector harassment sometimes still persists even after sending these letters. A decision not to pay a time-barred debt can negatively affect your credit score since you have left a debt unpaid.
