Based on the wording of the decree, the court has awarded a specific sum of ₹3,70,145/- along with subsequent interest @ 12% p.a. from the date of filing of the suit till realization. Legally, this usually means that interest is calculated on the decretal amount from the date of filing until the date the payment is fully made—not just on the original principal unless specifically mentioned.
