Need Urgent legal help - no money to pay emi and credit card bills

16-Jul-2025 (In Recovery Law)
I have lost my job and currently have no income or savings. I’m unable to pay my EMIs and it's been 12 days. Recovery agents are calling me daily and I’m mentally stressed. I have no money to pay right now. I want to know my legal rights and if I can request time or protection from harassment. Is there a way to settle later when I get a job?

Please note that defaulting on EMIs due to job loss is not a criminal offence. Recovery agents must not harass you. You can write to your lender explaining your current inability to pay and request time. If harassment continues, you may file a complaint with the bank or RBI.
