Need advice on recovering money

i had given 3lacs rupees to my friend in 2011Auguest .i had collected a promissory note from Him. Promissory note validity over.is their any possibility to recover amount from him.please suggest
Yes, you can recover your amount if you are within limitation period for recovery of debt. Usually, as a general rule time period is 3 years from the date of default in payment of money. Rest it will also depend on fact whether promissory note was payable on sight or on demand.
