Money taken from ex need to know the legal way

my cousin has taken money from his ex in tenure of their relationship and there is no physical intimacy involved at all she went to police station and they tried to negotiate that every month guy will give certain amt and both agreed for mou for next day but next day she denied saying need full amt in one go
How can police do such type of arrangement which is not permissible ask your cousin not to do any money, live in the relationship is not to extract money both are mature and literate, and they updated to live together on their own, so there is no question of paying money monthly or in full

Well, if no contract has been signed between your Cousin and his GF regards the Settlement reached out between them, then, his GF can withdraw from her previous stand, now, she can file a case in Court or further pursue case before the Police to convert Complaint into a FIR against your Cousin!
