Maid not returning money how to recover it

I helped my maid in the year 2010 for Rs.50000/- to get rid of her tenant .she told me that she will return it within a period of 1-2 months. but uptill now no returns.I paid by cheque.I am a lady.please help or guide me.
To recover your money the limitation period is of 3 years. But for example if she said you again in 2015 that she will repay you soon then the fresh period of limitation will start from then i.e. from the date of acknowledgement of debt by her and you will be able to file a civil suit or criminal complaint to recover your money. You can approach the local police station also and file a complaint of criminal breach of trust or you can file a recovery suit.
