Lent money, borrower refusing to return what action can I take

I had lend money to a person but now he is not ready to give back. Proof I have online bank transfer statement and a blank cheque . Please help how can I take it forward
You can send him a legal notice demanding the repayment of the said debt and if the person still denies to comply to the same then you can file a recovery suit in the civil court claiming repayment of debt and compensation alongwith the litigating expenses.
