Lend some money to colleague how can I get my money back

i had given some amount to my colleague as a hand loan by cheque. now he refuse to pay me as he lossed his all money in share market. but i helped him for repay his loans from market. Now i want my money. then what to do as per law.
You friend is bound to pay back the money that you lent him. You can file a recovery suit under order 37 of Civil Procedure Code.
