Legal recourse for recovery of debt given on the basis of stamp paper

Sir mere bhai ne ek saal pahle ek vyakti se 5lakh udhaar lene ke badle stamp per likha padi ki thi ki ek saal baad paise dene he..samne wale ne use 125000 cash me diye the aur baaki ki vyavastha late ho jane per dene ko kaha tha per stamp me 5lakh ka jikar he mere bhai ne koi cheque nahi diya kyunki samne wale ne pure paise nahi diye the aur ab use notice aagya he to kya kiya jaaye pls koi madad bataiye
Give the reply to that notice through counsel that the amount has already been fully paid. However no cause of action exist now as if the date has been mentioned in the promissory note then the limitation of filing the suit for recovery has already expired so just simply reply the notice and do not worry
