The husband has not in touch with the wife for more than 2 years ,not given any police complaint, hoping that son/husband would return to home wife is moved back to her parents house. and have some savings (selfearned) in her 40 and no kids and working in state government. But few days back husband father got a summons from SBI credit card collectors. told to pay credit card loan taken by husban of 2.5 lakhs and threatens either settle the money back or they will take police support to take the house hold items. The wife or husband family is not signed witness or does not know about this loan. 1. Is wife liable for the husband loans ? 2. what should she do if father in law will tell wife to pay back the money? 3. can credit card collectors approach her and demand as she is still legal wife?

Dear Madam,
whatever loan raised from your husband, you are personally not liable to repay the same as that loan was sanctioned from bank authorities based on your husband salary as such bank officials can recover the said loan by filing recovery suit against your husband.
