I have paid an online tutor money. Classes stopped. He won’t pay back

23-Oct-2025 (In Recovery Law)
I have paid an online tutor thousands of rupees for online classes. He dragged the classes on stating personal issues and finally completely stopped taking classes. But when I asked for refund, he asked for time, again stating personal reasons. Now he is dodging my texts completely. He lives in Germany. What should I do, kindly? Thank you!

This act amounts to deficiency in service, breach of contract, and cheating. Since you made payment for online tutoring and the service was not delivered, you are legally entitled to claim a full refund with compensation. Immediately issue a formal legal notice by email and registered post demanding refund within 7 days, citing Consumer Protection Act, 2019 – Sections 35 & 39. Preserve all payment proofs, chats, and course records as evidence. If he fails to respond, file a Consumer Complaint for refund and damages, or alternatively a cyber fraud / cheating complaint under Sections 415 & 420 IPC at your local cyber police station. Even if he resides abroad (Germany), action can be initiated from India since payment and transaction occurred here.
