How to recover the compensation for accident

My wife met with an accident 2mnth before we have not filed any complaint as person was student and he commited us he will pay compensation. Now after 2 month when we request for compensation he threatened my family as he has strong political back ground. Pls advice.
You can file an FIR against him stating the entire incident. You can also approach motor accident tribunal for getting compensation. If you file a criminal case against him then that will be only to punish him but filing a claim before motor accident tribunal will get you the compensation for your damages. You can send him legal notice for recovery of compensation. If not replied in time you can register complain
