How to recover my amount paid for a program canceled later.

Hello sir, firstly I am not sure whether this comes under recovery. I got selected to a program and paid 50000 and due to my work schedule I couldn't attend the program so I cancelled it. Now if I ask them return they are saying they will give only 20% . Initially they didn't tell me about cancellation policy nor I signed on any document. Now how can I get my money back
You can send a legal notice to the said opposite party. And if the opposite party is any kind of service provider then you can file a complaint in the consumer forum. Or you can also register a FIR under section 420 for cheating. Also, you can file a civil recovery suit for the same.
