HOW LONG CAN CONSUMER COURT CASES TAKE IN DELHI

06-Aug-2023 (In Recovery Law)
What is the current waiting period for consumer court cases in district consumer redressal forums in Delhi? Should I settle with lesser amount with negotiation or visit consumer court to get full amount? If I leave the city, can someone else like lawyer still represent my case in my absence or is it mandatory for me to be present in the court?

Consumer Courts in Delhi take longer due to high volume of pending cases. The dates are longer.
It is advised that if you are in hurry, then settle case by proper deed.
However, the consumer courts will definitely provide justice. Any amount claimed, shall be paid along with accruing interest.
It is not mandatory for you to be physically available on all dates, the lawyer can represent on majority dates. You can also appoint a GPA/SPA for attending all court proceeding and to represent you with the lawyer.

Hi,

Going by the limited information provided by you, there is no issue with you leaving the city as an advocate is authorised to appear before the tribunal.
You can appear virtually also of required.

We can discuss it over a call for a sane legal advise.
