Gave loan to friend and now he is not returning how to recover

I have given 1lac rs to my friens he asked me for urgent help. i have online tfr. watspp chat call reco proof. can a file a case on him? i live in hyderabad he lives in chandigarh. work in same office so what can i do because now he is saying i dont have money do whatever u want to do. pls suggest bcoz i dont want anything happen over me if i file a case. bcoz he is rich & having a strong background
There are two options available to you. 1. you can file a criminal complaint against your friend for the offence of cheating. if the police is not accepting the complaint, you can directly file a complaint in the criminal court of competent jurisdiction. 2. You can file a suit for recovery in the competent Civil Court. Pls. visit your local lawyer who, based on the documents availabale with you, can suggest you the best course of action.
